The house of “Veuve de Philippe Hüther”, a watch dealer and maker, registered the trademark “The TUDOR” In February 1926. TUDOR was established in Geneva for Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. A decade later, the house passed on the brand to Wilsdorf. Following the Second World War, Hans Wilsdorf sought to grow the brand and give it an identity of its own. On March 6, 1946, he created “Montres TUDOR S.A.”, a marvel of design, with models crafted for both men and women. Rolex would guarantee the technical, aesthetic, and functional characteristics, along with the distribution and after-sales service.
Explore The Collection“For some years now, I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our agents could sell at a more modest price than our Rolex watches, and yet one that would attain the standard of dependability for which Rolex is famous. I decided to form a separate company, with the object of making and marketing this new watch. It is called the TUDOR watch company.”
A world of micro-precision lives within every TUDOR watch. Perfection is key. Each intricate component within a TUDOR watch is relentlessly tested to the most precise details, ensuring nothing less than perfection. Study the movement. Jay Chou has a global influence on music that is characterized by his daring and inventive spirit. To shed light on his fearless attitude, TUDOR released a short film in which he confidently drives a sports car on an historical oval racetrack in Montlhéry, France. Eventually he races through time, a magical moment inspired by Jay Chou’s art and beloved time travel movies from the 80’s. The film represents the idea of iconic images of the past continuing to impact watchmaking culture, music, and other forms of art today. If you’re familiar with Chou’s work, you will recognize an homage to one of Chou’s earlier movies, in which he played a car enthusiast.
