- New Year’s Resolution: As the both of you are sharing your New Year’s resolutions, save the best one for last – to make her your wife.
- Scavenger Hunt of Memories: The one proposing can send their loved one a scavenger hunt of old memories and end up at a place where they would propose. You can even have little clues/notes at each point along the scavenger hunt (perhaps have a note or clue in a little heart shaped box or wrapped up in a small gift). For instance, you can start at the place where you met, then go to a place where you went on your fist date (you can even eat there if it’s a restaurant), go to your “special” place, etc. and then after several of those you can end up at a place you will propose to her.
- Romantic – The first place you met: Return to the exact place where you and your girlfriend first met. Talk about some great moments you have shared and then say something like “We’ve had an amazing journey. I’m hoping you’ll do me the honor or marrying me.”
- During a vacation at one of the fancy hotels that leaves chocolates or mints on the pillow each morning -- Sneak back after she leaves the room for breakfast, make the bed, and put out the "Do not disturb" sign. Leave the diamond in a special box on the pillow with a small note in place of the mints, so she finds it when you get back.
- At a college or professional sporting event (if you both like sports), arrange to have your message displayed on the scoreboard after halftime..."Cathy...Will you marry me?" Have the diamond ready in a presentation box.
- Christmas Idea:Propose to her on Christmas. Put the ring in a box and hang it like an ornament on the tree. After all the present have been opened, tell her there is one more special gift for her. Direct her to the ornament and get down on your knees to propose.
- Dinner Proposal: Freeze the ring in an ice cube and drop it in her glass, while you are at your favorite restaurant. When she realizes what is in her drink, get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.
- Pets Collar: Tie the ring to your pets collar.
- Website Proposal: Create a website asking “will you marry me” and send an email with an attachment to the website.
- Newspaper Proposal: Run a classified add in the newspaper asking the person to marry them.
- Christmas Lights in the Snow:Writing “will you marry me” in Christmas lights in the yard in the snow and bring her out to see the message.
- Romance Trail: Creating a "romance trail" in Milford highlighting possible locations to pop the question. We could create a strolling map that identifies romantic sites such as the millpond, the waterfall, the clock, the gazebo and the park. Along the path we could suggest stopping for chocolates at the candy shop, enjoying a glass of wine at one of the restaurants, sharing an ice cream sundae at Stucci's or selecting flowers from the florist. Rottermond's could supply a disposable camera to document this special occasion.
- Scavenger Hunt: That would terminate at Rottermond's. We could provide a small goodie bag that would include jewelry cleaner, bridal information, chocolates, etc.
- Proposal in a Bottle: You could write your marriage proposal on a piece of paper and then put it in a bottle. If it was summertime, you could place it on the beach ahead of time and act like it "washed up on shore". Then point it out to her so she's curious and wants to open it.
- Easter Proposal: If it was near Easter time, you could put the engagement ring in a plastic Easter egg along with other eggs in a little basket for her.
- Black Light Proposal: You could write your proposal with invisible ink and then get it out and set it on the table before going to a place where ultraviolet lights are used.
- Sandy Proposal: Write it in the sand or have a friend write it in the sand while you two are on the way down the beach at your favorite place. "Will you Marry me?" .
- Steamy Shower Mirror Proposal: Start the Day Right, Treat her to breakfast in bed, and when she hops in the shower, write the proposal on the bathroom mirror in the steam. Follow it with a romantic day!
- Flower Proposal: Visit a florist and purchase three long stemmed red roses. Attach a memento from the past to the first one, an item from the present to the second and the diamond ring to the third. Give your lady each one and when you give her the third rose ask her the big question.
- Movie Theater Proposal: You can arrange to purchase ad space on the advertising trailers that are shown at the movie theatre, some will create a mini scenario play with actors who during the final scene will turn to face the audience and ask your lady the question.
- Website Photo Proposal: Create a personal website storybook full of photos and images from all of the time you have shared with the last page featuring a photo of you holding a diamond ring with the caption: "will you marry me?".
- Create a personalized newspaper with plenty of pictures of your courtship. Include poems, quotes from friends and things of personal interest. Have a friend give it to your waiter while you are having a romantic dinner so that he can give it to her. The last article she reads will be your proposal.
- Propose on Cloud Nine: Do this by taking her on a hot air balloon ride, and bring a basket telling her you have a picnic set up someplace special (which you still should) besides having just lunch and champaign in the basket make sure you also have the ring in a Rottermond's box. Hire a blimp, helicopter, or plain and set it up that while your in the air your aircraft flies by with a banner with your own personalized proposal on it with her first and last name. She may think she was getting proposed to at the picnic but she gets a pleasant surprise getting proposed to on cloud nine!!
- Pampered Day - Schedule a limo to pick her (and friend) up and drop them off to predetermined locations where you\'ve made reservations. Such as massage parlor, salon, dress boutique, etc. Then make the last stop the restaurant or location where you are waiting to propose.
- My girlfriend and I like to cross country ski, we go every weekend and any other chance we have, I think when were about half way through our ski, when we stop for water like normal, I'll get down there in the middle of the snow covered woods and ask her to be my wife.
